Temple Guardians
Mon Jun 16, 2025
Pragmatic Play has taken a detour from its usual trail of gold coins and neon lights with Temple Guardians, a slot that leans into mysticism, nature, and a whisper of the supernatural. While most of the iGaming world chases jackpots and extravagance, this game attempts something softer—more spiritual, even. Think spirit animals, glowing runes, and ancient rituals beneath the stars. But don’t worry, this trip to the ethereal still leads to very real, material rewards, especially via a familiar Hold & Win bonus mechanic.
A Place Between Worlds
The atmosphere in Temple Guardians evokes a sacred, open-air temple—like a forest sanctuary fused with the energy of Stonehenge. You’ll find yourself surrounded by standing stones etched with blue runes, accompanied by fluttering ghostly lights and a tranquil, otherworldly soundtrack. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’ve got a thing for dream catchers, moonlit wolves, or crystals on your windowsill, this might be your kind of slot.
Gameplay and Setup
The game is built on a 5×3 grid with 10 fixed paylines. Bets start from just €0.10 and climb all the way to €250, making it flexible for cautious players and high rollers alike. The RTP comes in at a solid 96.53% in the base game, nudging up slightly to 96.56% if you choose to buy the bonus feature. Volatility is high, so expect swings—and hopefully a few big ones.
Symbol-wise, Temple Guardians sticks with a mix of card ranks (10 to A) for the low pays, while the premiums include glowing potion bottles, ornate rings, majestic owls, and powerful animals like wolves and bears. A mystical woman serves as the wild, appearing on all reels and offering the same high payout as the top-tier bear symbol.
The Bonus That (Hopefully) Delivers
Temple Guardians keeps its big money behind a fairly simple Hold & Win feature. To trigger it, you’ll need at least five Money symbols landing anywhere on the grid. There are three types:
- Purple Money Symbols: Worth 0.5x to 500x your bet.
- Green Money Symbols: Collect the total of all Purple symbols on the reels.
- Blue Money Symbols: Gather values from both Purple and Green symbols in view.
Once triggered, you get 3 respins. Each new Money symbol that lands resets the counter. The feature ends either when you run out of spins or the entire grid is filled, at which point you also score a massive 2,000x bonus on top of the regular payouts.
If you’re feeling impatient, the bonus can be bought for 70x your stake. It starts with 5 to 7 Money symbols on the board, giving you a head start.
A filler release?
To be blunt, Temple Guardians feels like a filler release. It’s decent, but not particularly groundbreaking. The visuals are pleasant, and there’s a definite charm to the mystical forest temple vibe—but that alone isn’t enough to carry the experience.
The base game is fairly quiet with no real features, and while the Hold & Win bonus round has a few nice touches (like the money-collecting mechanics), it doesn’t offer much you haven’t seen before. Yes, wins up to 10,000x are possible, and filling the grid gives you a satisfying 2,000x reward, but the road to those moments feels a bit flat.
In short, Temple Guardians is like a dreamcatcher you pick up at a market—pretty to look at, intriguing in concept, but you’ll probably move on before long.
