Raptor 2 – A Prehistoric Follow-Up With Modern Bite
Tue Jan 20, 2026
In the world of online slots, few mechanics get players fired up quite like multipliers—especially when they grow and grow with every cascading win. Yggdrasil’s DoubleMax system has long been a fan-favorite for exactly that reason, debuting with a bang in the original Raptor DoubleMax back in 2021. Now, the developer returns to the jungle with Raptor 2, a sequel that attempts to build on that legacy while introducing a couple of new evolutionary tweaks.
Once again, players are hurled deep into a lush, bioluminescent wilderness where dinosaurs roam freely and every spin feels like a step back into the Cretaceous era. Visually, Raptor 2 follows closely in its predecessor’s footprints—vibrant, glowing symbols, a dense jungle backdrop, and razor-toothed creatures ready to pounce. As the grid expands in free spins, symbols become slightly smaller, but the overall graphical quality remains impressively high. It’s still one of those casino games that instantly sets the atmosphere before the first spin even hits.
Expanding Ways and Serious RTP Potential
Raptor 2 begins with a 5×3 setup offering 243 win ways, but during free spins the game can stretch to a massive 5×7 grid, unlocking up to 16,807 ways. One of the most attention-grabbing stats here is the top-end RTP of 97%, which is exceptionally rare in today’s market. Just keep in mind that the game uses RTP ranges, and some versions—especially ones found in certain regulated markets or specific casinos—may drop closer to 94%. Spin stakes range from €0.10 to €10, paired with high volatility for those who enjoy harder-hitting gameplay.
Symbol values remain similar to the original: card suits form the low pays, while the dinosaurs deliver more rewarding wins—up to 3x for five of a kind. The wild symbol reappears to help complete winning combinations wherever possible.
Features That Bring the Heat
The DoubleMax mechanic takes center stage once again. Every winning avalanche not only replaces symbols but also doubles the active multiplier. In the base game, this resets between spins, but in free spins the multiplier never resets, creating monstrous potential—capped at x2,048.
Triggering free spins depends on how many scatters land:
- 3 scatters = 5 spins on a 5×3 grid
- 4 scatters = 15 spins on a 5×5 grid
- 5 scatters = 15 spins on a fully expanded 5×7 grid
During the feature, additional scatters can expand the reels by +2 rows until the grid reaches its maximum height. Feature buys are available as well, costing 80x, 240x, or 880x the stake depending on the desired starting configuration.
When Prehistoric Power Meets Modern Multipliers
While the original Raptor remains a legend, Raptor 2 puts up a respectable fight. The expanding grid mechanic adds a fresh sense of momentum, and the unresetting multiplier keeps the bonus round exciting. The only real drawback is the max win potential—9,493x—which feels modest compared to modern high-volatility slots.
Still, for players exploring the best casinos in Iceland, or anyone hunting for high-quality dinosaur-themed bonuses, Raptor 2 is absolutely worth a spin.
